Idiot lights

I want to move my indicator/idiot lights to my headlight bucket does anyone have a link to small waterproff leds with housings so that i can just drill a series of small holes in the bucket for neutral, brights, oil, turn etc.Thank you

when i did my dash on my harley i cut the wire harness off the stock lines, then tapped on to that with 12V led's from radio shack... worked great and you dont need to add a resister... anyway... here are the pics of when i did it:
my HD did not come with a tach, had to have a tach... so when i modded a low rider dash to fit my bike i still had to tap in my Idiot lights, used yellow, green, two reds... and a amber (brights, oil, turns, nutrl), radio shack is where i get most of my LED pre wired bulbs if not i make all my own it is simple to use the resisters and you can make some cool things wiht them

simple to set up LEDS? i want to make my own integrated tail light/ turn signal. custom size to fit in to my seat i will eventually make. you say this could be easily done? new topic in the Under $50 thread????

super easy man, you just need to get a scematic board from radio shack and you can cut that to work for anything you want... i have done a few diff set ups in LED, if i can track down a pick of the last rocket i did i ran LEDS along the under tail to work as his turn sigs, super easy... just alot of soldering!

I've got all of my 'idiot lights' (oil, neutral, brights, turn signals) wired up to 1 RGB led mounted in the bucket that I call my 'everything light' it's not as simple as what jrk is talking about, but it is super clean looking. LEDs themselves are watterproof, just a dab of silicone in the housing should work. if you spec the resistor right they will never burn out. I posted on here somewhere the diagram of how to hook up an led neutral light, but dtt's search function sucks so I'll post it here when I get to my computer. this could be modified to work with any of the lights, but keep in mind that resistor is spec'ed for the forward voltage drop of a GREEN led and would need to change for other colors.

hell ya man i would love to see how you do that! I work alot with LEDS! We do LED installs all the time!!! My cafe is getting high intensity green!

Here is the diagram for using a 'superbright' green led as your neutral indicator:

My everything light is a computer controlled RGB led with PWM on 2 of the 3 colors. It fades, it flashes, it can light up just about any color of the rainbow and I can program it to do anything I want. I am including one with the harness I'm doing for you on that tx500, maybe when it's done you could take some pictures for me and post them here? (The ex took my digital camera when she left and I haven't got a new one yet.) On another topic: I'm glad you are OK I heard on the news that 2 people died in a snowmobile accident the other day in elgin and assumed the worst.

ooh hell ya! i got all the wires together as well for you, i will get the switch housing put togehter and get that all set out this week. i want to be riding by Jan 26th so i have to get on the ball... ya i read that as well, my sleds where tucked safely in dads garage all weekend... next weekend we are heading up the the UP to get some nice trials! should be good times!

Sorry I got off topic, it happens sometimes. you should be able to get everything you need at radioshack or even cheaper if you order online. If you run into problems or have any questions just ask.

Hey Steve,

I'm very interested in further details of the "everything light." You mention it is computer controlled, are you writing code into a hobby robotics board like picaxe or similar? what is your total cost in on something like this? Sounds awesome.
