I bought my first bike, a 1971 CL450. I brought it to a local mechanic who stated he worked in the Honda shop here in the 70's assembling these bikes, and would tune it up for me.
He called and said it was all ready. I go with a friend of mine to ride it home, and notice it's idling a little rough. He notices as well and starts making some adjustments on the carbs while we stand there twiddling out thumbs. After about 10 minutes it's slightly better, but won't idling for more than a minute without cutting out. He states, "that's as good as it's gonna to get".
When I get it home I start making some adjustments to see if I can smooth it out. I now have it so it will at least run independently without revving every so often, but there's something I'm not certain about. When I turn it on or rev it, it idles at around 1800, and then slowly starts to climb back down to 1000. What could be causing this? Here's a video to demonstrate what I mean.
