If anyone on the east coast has one of these, I want to know about it.

Live, breath, sleep HONDA!
I have been keeping my eye out for this moped for years. My Dad bought me a used one when I was 16 and I wouldn't mind touching a bit of my youth again with some of the knowledge and skills I have gained since then. If anyone has one of these Batavus mopeds around and reasonably priced and local to the north east let me know.

It would be really cool to pass on to my oldest son someday as a learner. I used to deliver newspapers on it, ride my friends around, and even put racing fuel in it once! - That was interesting, never new it could do over 50mph, suprised it didn't put a hole in the cylinder. But like I said I didn't know what I know now. Back then I lived in upper NY state near Canada and the law required that you register and insure it even if it only did 25-30MPH. I remember it cost me just over a $100 bucks and to me that was a lot of money at the time, but gas was cheap, belts were sold at Napa down the street and I must have patched the inner tubes about a dozen times as I rode it all year round. It was great fun and great memories.

Have you looked around over at mopedarmy? Those cats know where ALL of that off the wall stuff is.

I have a few mopeds, but I don't have a batavus. Are you interested in any other brands? I have a 2 speed solo cafe that needs a new home... 8)

Where are you located? A few of my friends are mope-heads, they're pretty good at tracking down whatever they're looking for.

@ Eric P. - Thanks for the offer but this particular mope has meaning to me. I am not in need of a moped as I have 4 motorcycles. But if the opportunity to ride this moped again came around that would be a hoot. Its sentimental, I know that sounds soppy.

@ BoneDaddy - I am in Seymour, Connecticut. "mope-heads", Funny term! Never heard that one before.

Thanks guys.

Cool man. I did post on Mopedarmy.com and got a response from a guy in NYC, who has 3 of these in N. West CT. Seems pretty cool, but all depends on what he wants for them though. I am only looking for 1, but 3? Wife will kill me. Stuff seems to go for stupid money these days and they are just mopeds after all. With the 49cc scooter boom, I don't suspect there is much demand for these anymore but I could be wrong. Hopefully his price will be reasonable and the Batavus will be in decent shape. We'll see, keeping the options open. Any leads are appreciated.

I have never paid more than $250 for a moped. But then again, the last one I bought was 6 or 7 years ago.

What model is it? I've got an orange HS50 I picked up years ago. I'm not allowed to sell it, my daughter thinks it hers, and it will be the minute her feet reach the peddles, but I do have a manual and a scanner if you ever need any info.
