I just bought a 2000 Sv650 that had been sitting for about ten years, needs a tuneup real bad and still out performs about 90% of the bikes I've owned. My buddy bitches that it runs with his 900 Monster for half the price. They are sick little bikes, feels like your riding an enduro on steroids. Can't say enough about them, and the one you're looking at has the cool looking frame. GT650 is a very cool bike, but the SV will eat it for lunch....

Yeah, I've ridden both. Currently I'm ridding an 88 HawkGT. It's a blast to ride and they are collectable (91 is the most collectable) but I agree, the SV will take it over any day. Plus the SV has TONS of aftermarket goodies. Parts for the Hawk are damn near unobtainium.

Go with the SV. I had the top one and it was okay for a starter bike low so many years ago. The SV, like others said is indestructible. It is lighter weight and more agile.

I'm disappointed.....I thought this thread was going to be about (. Y .) ;D

What the Hawk falls behind in performance, it overtakes in style and funkiness. Another one of Honda's beautiful losers. Single sided swingarm is awesome. SVs are common as dirt, Hawks are a rare bird.

Oh! I thought the top bike was a GS500e. (that's what I get for looking at this on my phone screen). Totally go with the Hawk. THey are cool and have lots of potential. The SV just IS what it is.
