I'm Official!

Too fast to live. Too young to die.
I have completed the motorcycle safety training course required by the state of Texas to be able to get the motorcycle certification on your drivers license. I passed both my written and riding test with flying colors (that's not to bragging, the tests were pretty easy - especially the written - just part of the excitement). I then when to the Texas DPS and took the computer motorcycle safety test with them. I passed with flying colors. On top of that I transfered my PA license to Texas officially. I now have my Texas drivers license with my motorcycle certification. I now have a title in my name for my Yamaha RD350, and it's fully insured.

Yesterday when I got home from work, I took my RD out for my first legit ride around town. It was invigorating and freagin' RAD. I loved it. I can't wait to ride again! I thought I was hooked before, but now it's official.

I'll try and have some video up soon when I get a chance so you can all see the bike in action.

Thats awesome news! Im jealous of the RD...im passively searching for one, even though my cb450 isnt done yet haha

Very nice! I also picked up an RD350 (well, technically an R5 with an RD motor) as my first real bike not that long ago, so it's nice to see I'm not the only one who didn't listen to their friends telling them a modded RD was a terrible starter bike :p.
On a side note I looked at the pics in your sig, that's one of the most beautiful RD's I've seen. Period. I've seen very few bikes that I can look at as something to set the bar for my own rebuild this winter, but yours is definitely one of them. Good show.

woah, we're like twins! i moved (back) to TX from PA recently, and have an RD250. neatooo

Nothing better then getting out for the first time and not having to worry about getting pulled over.

I gotta get around to doing that.

The last time I renewed my drivers license, I asked the lady if I had a motorcycle endorsement before I moved out of state, would I have to retest to get it again.
She asked how long it had been......

I said 1978 and she was laughing so hard, she almost peed her pants. ;D

My wife wants to do the MSF too, but insists on having separate classes. Apparently it would put too much pressure on her if I were there. ???
