Well world, I won. After three years of arguing with my parents non stop I finally bit the bullet and bought a motorcycle. Sitting in my living room now is Roxy, my 1981 Yamaha SR250. She (kind of) runs and for $500 I couldn't pass her up. I'm a Senior in College studying TV Producing and photography so this is more of a weekend warrior bike for me as I work a part time job and play for my universities tennis team (top 25 in the U.S. Go Bees!). I look forward to getting involved here and learning more about motorcycles in general. In the mean time *SELFISH PLUG WARNING* I take a lot of moto pictures if you want to check out my instagram @jwj_jr
Also, planning on turning Roxy here into a scrambler but figured I'd post more details in the build area. If you leave in or around GA let me know! Always looking for new bikes to take pictures of.
Welcome to the site and the community! You'll find lots of help both online and likely in the Atlanta area as well. In October every year we get together a few hours west of you near Birmingham at the Barber Vintage Festival, so book some time off around Oct 10 2016 for the weekend.
Great first bike - singles are excellent to work on and a small bike is going to be tons of fun to play with.

Next weekend is last of the season, but Suches will be hopping again come March.

This is where the good riding is. I'm in Dahlonega, about 90 minutes from you.
I love Suches! My buddy has a cabin up there. Hopefully I can get my bike finished in time. Never really knew about the dual sport stuff up there but it makes sense.
Nice Cxman! That was a sick bike. A little anticlimactic to see it given away to someone who didn't attend the release party but was pretty cool. Matt Jones and Jared Erickson are friends of mine. Have you checked out their temporary setup at ponce city market?
