In need of a Cafe Seat Pan for 1978 CB400T

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a fiberglass Cafe Seat pan for a 1978 CB400T? I wrote "Glass from the Past" but no response yet. I see a few others on here with some nice pans just want to know who to contact. I'll upholster it.

the best way to approach the situation is to assume the fiberglass producer has no idea what the measurements of your bike are, which in almost every case, is the truth. it's up to you to see based on their posted dimensions what will work best on your bike, bike manufacturers don't publish dimensions for their motorcycles, so unless the glass guy has a warehouse full of frames (he doesn't), just ask for measurements if they're not already provided by the glass guy

Hi. I have the same exact bike and I bought from dime city. It fits perfectly and I upholstered it myself too. Have gotten a ton of compliments. http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-chassis-seat-parts-one-up-roccity-roadracer-cafe-racing-seat-rc-roadracer.html

Soulracer- That seat you have is actually a creation of the guy who posted just before you.

To MXseatpro, you will have to measure your frame, and go on a few different seat sites and see which one will fit both your bike and your style. roccitycafe.com is a good site, as well as airtech-streamlining.com

"Soulracer" can you post a side shot of your bike with that seat? Thanks for the imput guys. I guess I'll take some measurements and start in.

Can't figure how to post pick using iPhone or iPad. Shoot me an email at solserfr@gmail.com and I'll send some to you

here is what i did. i cut any part of the mounting brakets that were too high. and kept the big plate there in the middle because im going to be using this for my mounting braket. then i took diamnod plate(aluminum) cut it to fit in right on top op the frame, i am making a cusion but this is were im at right now.

looks pretty good for the start. I would make the diamond plate longer though, if you're looking to make the backside hump out of fiberglass.

Did you manage to find a seat pan? I made one for my bike, gonna have to make a mold from it now because it is to heavy and very thick in places due to filling to get the shape right. Once the mold is done I'll be able to make a nice light and strong seat pan.
