i just got my tune up kit in from DCC and was wondering id the points can just bee screwed right on to replace the old ones. Do you have to time the new ones with compression or are they just plug and play. I was also wondering about installing new spark plug cables. Can they be fitted into the stock coils? Or do i need to buy new ones. The PO had said that he soldered a wire from the stator to keep the bike running. After 12 miles the first day and a straight 8 mins of idle the bike took a crap on my. The battery wont charge, but what else is new with theses beauties. When i did get the bike running she was great! i put her in stop go traffic for a good 10 miles and she held up. thre are a crap ton of questions i have, and will have. Any help or insight from you guys would be greatly appreciated. If i left any important info out (im sure i did) just let me know. But yeah, thanks for any wisdom

As far as the points go.... when you replace them you will have to do the timing again. Here is a video how to if you don't already know:

I have yet to do spark plug wires, so i can't help you there. And you stator sounds kinda ghetto rigged if you know what i mean.... you should look into a more reliable/functioning stator. they can be EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for one. but you can luck out.
Cheers ;D
