Integrated LED taillight

New to wiring and looking to install an led strip to act as a running/brake/signal light on a '74 360.

Curious if I need to pick up both a load resistor and flasher relay in order to make this work properly (or if neither are necessary).

Yes, either one will serve your need, but I'd recommend the digital flasher relay. Load resistors get hot, like the incandescent bulb, and can melt whatever is close.
Change the relay and you'll already be set if/when you change the front signals to LED's too ;)

Yup, Easy, Peazy, Japaneezy ;)
The only "glitch" might be whether your bike has a single dash indicator for the turn signals, or two (one for each side). If you have two indicators, no further modification is necessary. If you have a single indicator, you'll likely experience "crossfeeding" which will make all signals flash regardless of which side you switch it to. However you have a few options to correct the crossfeeding issue: a) Remove the bulb for the indicator, and simply do without it. b) wire diodes inline at the indicator light. Or c) Use a digital flasher with a "P" (pilot) output, and run a single wire from the relay to the indicator.
Option "a" is the easiest, but "b" and "c" aren't difficult to do. You'll just need to decide if you want/need to have the dash indicator functional.
