International Motorcycle Show

I went this year in Long Beach. While it was a good time seeing the bikes and running into friends, over-all, though, I was disappointed. The deals offered at the show on gear and such generally weren't as good as shopping online and the alleged "seminars" were just infomercials. The worst one was supposed to be about DIY suspension tuning, but there was ZERO information given. Only a long plug for the presenter's company. I doubt I'll ever attend one of these again. Sorry to be so negative, but the whole show felt like a big rip-off.

I went last week in Minneapolis and I was also a little disappointed. All in all it wasn't a bad deal for the $12 ticket if you want to see the new models. I didnt do any seminars or really look too hard at the vendors. I really went to see the new Triumphs and that new Ducati Panigale. There were a couple nice surprises like the Victory cafe and Buells $40,000 carbon fiber bike and the Minnesota vintage bike club had a pretty cool display with Tritons, Nortons, Bsas etc...Oh, and I got my picture taken with Flo from Progressive.
If you're looking to spend a whole day there that might be a stretch but for a couple hours I think you'd be fine. I want to say almost half the display space was either Indian or Harley. I was representing DTT though!

Nice wardrobe!

Yeah, the Long Beach show was overrun by the Harley display and the Harley insurance display and the Harley aftermarket displays. We didn't mind so much. I'm a Yamaha guy and I went with my friend who has a Ducati and a Victory. Between those venues and the Triumphs and Beemers, we were ok. As mentioned, not an all day thing.

I ended up going Saturday. It was basically exactly what you all said. I enjoyed it for a couple hours, and then got the hell outta there. I forgot my camera at home, which sucked.

Glad you went to see for yourself. Here, though, seeing the Moto Guzzi V7 on display was worth the price of admission, but next year I'll probably just go hang at L.A. Cyclesports.

That Guzzi was sweet. There were a few really nice rides. The Thruxton, the Commando, a few Ducati. All in all I am glad I went. And I would probably go back. My wife bought her first motorcycle helmet at the Bell booth. But there was quite a bit of eye rolling at some of the bikes and the people. Lots of leather fringe, spinner rims and LEDs. But watching the people was half the fun.
