Intro - GS550 / GS750 Owner

Here is my belated intro...

I have been scouring the forum for over a year now. I started looking for a motorcycle I could buy on the cheap and build over time. I found DTT and shortly thereafter picked up a 1977 Suzuki GS550 in decent condition. I am a perfectionist on a budget and planned a full rebuild from day one - even if it takes me a long time to complete. I have a desk job so working on motorcycles gives me a chance to use my hands and grow my mechanical ability. I have owned dirt bikes and a Harley Sportster before. I Worked in a welding shop in high school and spent many years in and around construction trades so working on motorcycles is not too much of a stretch, although I have much to learn. I may start a build post when I get closer to the finish line. Right now lack of time and money are slowing progress.

1977 GS550 - current state:
Rear hoop welded in
De-tabbed
Frame and rims powder coated
Seat pan fabbed
Brakes rebuilt
Engine on stand
Carbs rebuilt
Hardware cad plated

Next step:
Stainless spokes and tires so I can start assembly on the roller.

While I was scraping together money for the 550, low and behold a 1978 GS750 showed up on Craigslist and I already had the manual....

So for the 750 I plan to just do basic maintenance and hopefully get it ride-able by summer (the nicer the weather the more basic my plans become for the 750).

1978 GS750 Plans:
Brakes front and rear
Battery
Clean up the electrical
Fork seals
Rebuild carbs
Overall clean and polish

I'd be happy to hear from other GS owners (info to give or receive). I have spent a lot of time over at GSResources too. I am always looking for info on good service providers in the north bay (SF). I used Burbank Plating (SoCal) based on recommendation in DTT and was impressed with the results. They have a minimum so you can basically fill up a 5 gallon bucket with parts and still be at the minimum.

Thanks to all who contribute to the forum. I have learned a 'Ton' without having to ask anything so far.

First question: Does anyone have a source for the Mikuni VM22 round slide carb tee (oem part# 13685-47040) that fits between the center carbs on the GS550?
