Intro

Sadly my days of being out every weekend on the mtb are over. The odd session around Cannock is squeezed in now and again.

I've already run into problems with the paint later idea. I want to install head sets and bush's in the frame. These are best done after paint.

I hope to borrow a welder tomorrow. I can then get some nuts tacked in and old welds tidied up.

I need to bite the bullet and get some money spent on the essentials. By not buying them now I'm only delaying the project for myself.

There is no chance I will tackle the pain myself. I was going to have a go at painting the tank myself however I just don't have the patience to achieve a decent finish.

I will check spoke tension and make sure the wheels are trued before sending to the coaters though because that's a really good point about not being able to make the adjustments after. Let's just hope I can avoid the potholes lol

Any recommendations for rust removal inside the tank?

I'm thinking I'm going to get the While bike built MOT'd and on the road prior to any paint. Then strip it down over next winter. At least I will have it on the road.

Check out THIS thread if you're after a cheap option for rust removal. I've had mixed results but others seem to have had success.

Otherwise, Por 15 is supposed to be good, but I have yet to try it.

I tried this method a few years ago... worked a treat.

I have just looked at the entire thread el barto posted. I'm pretty rural so going to pop into a farm supplies and see if they have milkstone remover in stock. That sounds like a simple solution.
