My first cafe racer was more of a Wes Cooley superbike inspired GS550 Suzuki 1977. If anyone runs across one with falt bars, cut down seat, yosh pipes around the blackburg va area from the late 80's I'd love to know where it went.
Then on to a GPz 750 that was pretty much stock.
A hawk 650 that got lower bars, a polished frame and a wicked loud two brothers pipe.
Also had a TL1000s that I streetfightered and had to sell since it always wanted to "do the ton" no matter where I was...
From around 1988 on I have had the bike below...I suppose it isn't really a cafe racer as it lacks clip ons, but I like it. It used to be an R80RT, the touring version with full fairings. It has slowly evolved to this:
I also have a ZRX that is only slightly modified since it is such a perfect bike to begin with!!
Next??? I really want to do a cafe. fighter out of a late 80's early 90's alloy framed liter bike.....
