It may exist... The worlds coolest motorcycle?

Can you say "supercharged, side-valve HD 45" Flat Head chopper?"

I love this bike. The 45" Flat Head is my favorite of all HD motors. The craftsmanship is stunning. Everything is where it should be. Everything is clean, and functional. Nothing is there that doesnt have a purpose. The paint is gorgeous.

I think it may be the worlds coolest bike.

I really like this bike. My only nit pick (and it's purely subjective) is that I do't like the newer machined look of the front end.

For some perverse reason I love flatties. But at SpeedWeek this years there was a batch of them. Lars showed up with his blown Indian flattie. The guy in the photo facing the camera (hat and shades) is Patrick from London, england with a blown KR flattie and the guy with his hands behind his back had a blown KR at SpeedWeek. Patrick had a problem with his and burned his hand. And Lars ran 98.126 with his on his way to a new record. What is it about blown flatties that draws people in?

Yeah I think they did that purely for function and weight. I might have tried to make it a little more vintage if I had been doing it myself, or paint it... Maybe a little patina

Love it the bike is gorgeous, But I'm not feelin the billet front end. I just dont think that it flows with the rest of the bike. Maybe if it was black and looked a little more vintage it might fit the part better.
Just my 2 cents, aside from that the workmanship is second to none.

I'm not so sure if the supercharger was really a vintage item either...I think the billet fits, but it'd be cool if it were weathered a little.

I like it.

I like it alot.

I really dig the front end on this bike too! It's not glaringly "billet", with a sandblast surface it wouldn't draw a single blink.

Only way that bike could be cooler is if the engine was slung under a Seeley Mk.4 frame with decked out Roadholders and Hagons!

In my humble and half stewed opinion, the front end makes it. We all spend so much time "updating" old bikes. And when we do, it looks like new tech on old iron. This bike has a front end made from new material, but with old tech. Its the opposite of wht most do. I love this motorcycle. It makes my man panties moist.

...you fuck on the first date too......

But....you hit it on the head. That front end might be milled from aluminum (they had that stuff in the old days too) but it's all old school......

I like, it, But I am most certainly with the Swag. This needs a race chassis to do it for me. As much as I dig bobbers, I just know you can get so much more out of a motor with a proper chassis....A seeley, or even a slimline...something designed for the twisties with a dynamic weight distribution and performance suspension....that does not negate the fact that I am indeed a fan. Even of the front end.

Nah man... Its a 45ci , (basically) 80year old, 40hp motor. A race chassis is wasted on it. There are plenty of great motors for building race bikes. This is just A BIKE. Its cool. Its chill. Its made for just riding and enjoying the sunset youre riding into, or the sunrise youre riding away from. And it does it with some more class than just about anything ive seen. I love a proper "go fast" machine. Maybe too much. But sometimes a rollin' steady and straight bike is called for. It to me is like cars. I want a Porsche GT3 that will do 180mph and hit corners at speeds that make Andrettis cry, but Id also want a 49 Merc with a mild flathead and 3" of ground clearance for the cruise. Sometimes going slower and taking it all in is what the doctor ordered ya dig? And Lee... First date? Since when does there have to be a date involved to get sweaty? How about fuckin' on the first drink? Hahaha

I disagree with this. If that was the mentality, then why race a CB175 sloper? Why bolt a supercharger on it? I dunno, I think modern Harley's fit the profile of "just a bike" not flatties. I'm not saying I don't like it! I love it.....I have just come to terms with the fact that race bikes are my thing. I want them to go faster and perform better than stock. Period.

Agreed. But in its present form, it rides better, hauls more ass and is (in a different way) better looking than stock. That said, I hear what youre saying. Flatties can be righteous race bikes, but lack any top end. That makes them shit for any real road racing against anything other than other flatties. For example, at the same time the flat heads were HDs regular bike, you could buy tons of European bikes that would smoke it. They were never designed to be racers. Not the side valves at least. And on top of that, I bet that bike is a blast on windy back roads. Sure, its no Triton but fun none the less. Back to the car thing... Even an VW Beetle is a ton of fun. Its no Ferrari, but a hell of a lot of fun none the less.

And that my friend is why you are the Mad scientist...

I on the other hand have to agree with Mike on this... Sometimes low and slow allows you to really appreciate the scenery, whether that is DT LA at 4 in the morning or the PCH at sunset.

oh and sorry Dave... the Black lightning is way cooler than the Shadow... and the supercharged version is even better... Plus my neighbor growing up had (still has, still is my parents neighbor) one of the only Supercharged 1949 black lightning still in existence.

71 years ago they were "just a bike". The Knuck was ohv as were most Brit bikes. Remember too that it was wartime and the 45 was used in the war. I was just talking to Joeyputt about this. Reliability not speed was the priority. They were built with no racing pretensions whatsoever.

Today they are iconic (of sorts) and there are some who try to wring as much speed out of them as possible. Its never going to be earth shattering fast. But that's not the point. Same with the blower on that machine. Its there to give a bit of a boost to the engine and a bigger boost to the owner. I have no doubts that it would make a sweet little cruiser. And be a hoot.

But if you want to talk Vincents lets talk about George Brown and "SuperNero".

Exactly. You can make a fast(ish) flathead. But Id rather make a fast 175 sloper. A motor that was honestly made to perform better than it did when you bought it. The flathead will happily putt along at 45mph for ever. Sounding and looking terrific. And thats cool with me.

There are many engines that are better suited for racing than a 45. But there are those few who want to see just how fast they can get a 45 before it grenades ( if it has enough power to grenade).
