After having this bike for 2 years now I finally was able to get it over to my shop (work) and start tinkering. After rigging up a temperary fuel system and figuring out the rats nest of wiring, I got my SL175 running. Started up on the first kick. Its been sitting in a shed for 30 years before I bought it from the original owner. Exciting day.

Didn't take much at all either. I tore down the carbs today and cleaned everything up. and fixed the gaps on the spark plugs (which amazingly looked to be brand new). I'm guessing that's one of the thinks the previous owner did to try and get it running but failed. Removed the rusted to hell muffler, so as for now its straight pipes, which sound awesome but I need to fab up a better system with a baffle. Thinking about 2-1 scrambler style or in the same location just with a stubby tip/baffle poking out the bottom. Now that my project is officially under way, I guess I will have to start a build thread. Going to work tomorrow (my day off) to concentrate on the bike. Going to attempt to install the xl175 top tree and slide the forks through and set up my clip-ons. After 2 years I finally can build this little sucker. ;D
