It's too damned cold to ride motorcycles!!

Bullshit! :p

Since it's mid winter in in Canada, I obviously can't ride my CB550 or my KZ1000 so I do the next best thing: ice race a KX500!

Heres a few pictures and a couple of GoPro vids I made this winter. (I'm #75 btw, and on the helmet cam footage I have a "dmxs" sticker on my visor) So much fun throwing the big KX into the corners at 80mph!

Enjoy!

It's never too cold to ride, only too cold for poor choices in gear. :D

If I had my full license instead of just the permit, I'd be riding to work in the snow today.

YEEEEHAWWW!!!!! People around here think I'm crazy for wanting to go ice fishing!

I would say it looks frigid but it look like you're having too much fun to worry about being cold.

Shit... The only passion stronger in me than my love of riding is my hatred of snow... Id give it a go, but dont think id make a habit of it! Ha. Great vids man. Looks like an absolute blast!

Yeah, my buddy who is an ice climber who regularly climbs frozen waterfalls 200 feet high says I'M crazy! lol We've een really lucky with our winter this year. every weekend it seems to be only -2 - +5 (30-36f) so it's just amazing riding, except for the fact that the ice gets soft and big ruts develop. After a session you can walk around in a light jacket. It's awesome.

I bought a couple more GoPro mounting kits so I'll have some interesting vid next week hopefully. the helmet cam just dosen't cut it anymore! :p

Spikes and frozen balls. Nutcases the whole lot!!

Yeah those Russian's are indeed crazy. Three inch spikes are over kill (pun intended) We use MF44 tires (Pirellis) that are hand made and sell for about $650.00 a set. These studs are actually specially made screws that are 1.5 inches long. There is a street bike tire tread carcass inside to make the rubber thicker and to make it hold the studs in better. These tires never shed any screws unless they are really worn out. Real bitch to mount though! Tr installing two tires that are screwed together with 600 1.5 in screws!

Like I said. You're all nuts!! 600 screws? $650 a set? Nuts totally!! This is the only white stuff I'll play on. In August when its 100 deg. or better. My kind of snow.

A front tire will last 3 season and a rear 2 under a fast aggressive rider. Cheaper than a set of street tires for a sport bike. I'd love to run the salt once before I die, but 100f heat just kills me! lol

I used to LOVE riding my 4 wheelers and snow machines on ice was a frigging blast and worth hours of just plain and simple stupid fun spinning shitties all over the place. Funny thing is I'm still the only idiot around here that gets out on his bike regardless of the weather. Was -2 today with the wind chill and I still got some fooling around done with my wife's scooter I just picked up. Neighbors are looking at me like I'm freaking NUTS but hey I don't care, I'm fuking this turtle. HAHAHAAA

I got Snow Tires For the Vespa......Studds Would be Nice Tho
