jet size for my 77' CB550K???

hey,....I want to add pod filters to my bike (1977 Honda CB550K) and jet the carbs...

.can anyone help me in the size of jets I would need for my bike??

If you have the 087A's ive heard depending on your elevation a 115 main and one notch down on the needle from center is a good place to start

one of the problems i found with the pods is that it is very hard to balence them becouse there very littel resistence for the vacum to work !!! i ended up taping half of it up just to get it to run right and i put back the standard jets (after puting 115 jet in) it now runs real sweet and you still get that nice air induction sound

I havn't had a problem with my 76 550, but I used the UNI foam pods, oiled them nice, and went to 110 jets. I also have a shorter 4 into 4 exhaust (the system was rusted out, so I chopped them back to where there was no rust). Pulls VERY hard up to redline, there is a very light hesitation when you are just cruising and holding steady rpm's. But its so minor there's no reason to change it. Just my opinion.

Cool....thanks for all the info ....I was also told to use 105 jets.....and thats what I ended up ordering.....lets hope they work once its all done!

That makes sense, being that your exhaust isn't full of holes like mine! Hope she runs great man! Let us know how it goes when they come in.
