K1 Tank Chrome Panels...Help!

Man Of Constant Throttle
...I know they're crazy expensive, but even at that I can't find any online. Anyone here know who sells either repros or new/used ones? My CL450 is getting so close, this is one of the last touches. These tanks are so hard to find, I know it's heresy and don't want to fill in the grooves, but if I don't land a pair of panels for it, I may be up for trading it for the panel-less Scrambler tank that I just need to screw the emblems into, if anyone here (and pref. local) is looking.

Either way, any help as always would be much appreciated. Thanks.

How 'bout now? Anyone? Bueller? Frye? I'm still in the same boat and can't find them anywhere online, if anyone knows any good leads on the chrome tank panels and knee pads, repro or otherwise, I'd appreciate it, it's one of the last touches on this '69. I know they're stupid $$$. Damn, I wish there was a Thai repro of these from whoever makes the bootleg emblems.

This isn't my pic but this is the tank and covers I'm after:

Jeff (T.O.), if you see this - I got some 8" drag bar internal baffles, split the ends so they'd fit and rammed them right into the headers so I could keep those totally useless Shortys that I love on there. So hopefully this will be like 8% less deafening when it gets rolling. Thing is possessed. I owe you at least 1,000 beers for what she put you through. - CC

Finally got a line on and ordered them. For the record, anyone else looking for CL450 tank parts, this is the one place I found high and low that had them, in Ohio:

How many gallons are those tanks? I want something similar on my DOHC supersport. You know, the 900 is just two 450's bolted together. Makes the same power. So I'd like to put a black-bomber tank on a 900 at some point. You know what you need to do with those parts you've got there? Bemoaning the lack of a knock-off copy? MAKE THEM. I wonder if they could be cast in fibreglas, being that there's that fake chrome paint now that's so cheap. I've seen reproduction emblems lately, that's what they need to do with all of this stuff. And the knee pads, at the very least if you've got a good one you should do a mould of it using that denture stuff. I saw something once where this couple who were porn-stars did moulds of their junk with the stuff. I had such a laugh at the dude sitting there with his ass in a bowl of porridge trying to "think warm thoughts" so as not to get any "mould shrinkage" so to speak. But yeah, if you've got that good copy, then somebody can cast up something in rubber gum and then have them vulcanized. Or maybe there's a new material that's superior, with more "tack" to it, harder wearing, and looks nice and shiny black. Speaking of dildos. Ha ha. "Cyber-Skin"? And before you ask, no it's not THAT. My prude girlfriend worked at an adult store when we were in college. Best decision she ever made ... maybe not for her, but for me it was. Ha ha. Anyway, I would often have to hang out and keep the drunks from wandering in and molesting her. She actually toughened up a bit too. Definitely a "growth" opportunity. Nyuck-nyuck. So, while I was there, I would eat take-out food, read books, and look at all of their product. Oh, and watch through a peep-hole while she sold vibrators to other hot young girls. But anyway, there are a lot of cheap new rubberized plastics that have been set up for moulding in a cottage industry type fashion. THAT'S what I could have said the first time, but it was less fun. Ha ha.

Really though, I know that the "ping" of the metal part is a good thing, but who are you gonna allow to touch the bike when it's done anyway? Right? So fibreglas and faux chrome doesn't seem so bad now, does it? As for the feel of the dildo-rubber between your thighs....

Seriously, I know you don't wanna answer me NOW, but how much gas did those tanks hold?
-Sigh.

Well I for one love your story. It's good to know that if I did cast some knee pads myself I could also use them as a butt plug in a pinch. And the chick you're thinking of who did casts of famous rock dicks was Cynthia Plaster Caster. There's a book and a great doc on her. I'd definitely be facing shrinkage if that was my junk in a cold bowl of that stuff, I don't know how Hendrix pulled it off, he had special powers.

The tank parts, I'm just glad it's out of the way. The knee pads you're right, not as big a deal, but the chance of finding those side covers at a swap meet (and then making sure it wasn't close but wrong for the tank ie:Black Bomber bullet-shaped tank) was looking slim to none. I also needed one side cover grommet, that stupid little screw-head that those with fabrication means sell for like $30. So I got a set, they were only $5 or so each. Still gonna have to desecrate the original "Banker's Blue" paint job with a good flat black though.

GAAAAH! DENIED! Days after I put the order through, I just now got an email that they (Western Hills Honda, Ohio) don't have and cannot get any of what their site allowed me to order and pay for. So, back to the drawing board! $&*%%*!!
