Kawasaki Z1B Slipping out of gear!

All 40 year old transmissions can benefit from undercutting....they could have when they were new. ;D

Whilst this is true, it's mainly the big HP bikes that tend to wear out the dogs because they get more abuse. You won't see many CB350's needing undercutting because they only produce about as much power as a washing machine.

One of the things you do as a matter of course if you are building an older engined race / drag bike is to split the cases and undercut the dogs.
 
we used to undercut the dogs on the bultacos by hand with a die grinder :),of course this was before they are worn
 
All Kawa Zeds can NOT be shifted into 2nd gear unless the output shaft is turning, i.e. the bike is being ridden!
As for it slipping out of gear under load, this is quite common and you more than likely have a bent selector fork. The crankcases will need to be split to replace the fork.
