So i had been wanting to do something with this 75cc Derbi watercooled 6spd motor that i have had hanging around my bench bench for the past few months, i rebuilt it for the hell of it cause i had the parts and a gila 75cc race cylinder that needed to go on something.. so far i have about $450 invested in this build and am hoping to keep it under the $700 mark including paint.. the motor only needed some minor mods to fit in the frame and everything has gone too easy with it so far.. when it's done it should weigh in at a little over 120lbs and have between 20-25hp.. should be a fun little racer.
i work pretty fast, so it should be a pretty quick build.. right now i am at the two week

those puch snowflakes? glad to see you retrofit a disk! 21mm dellorto race carb? with as much power as that motor makes and with the rpms it turns i'd look for a mikuni tm24 at least. beautiful machine, love that tank. can't wait to see a video
 
yeah, it is a 21mm delorto race carb, i am trying to keep a decent mid range on it, i have a 28mm tm on the same motor that is in one of my derbi senda's and a tm24 on my gpr with the metrakit cylinder, there isn't too much of a noticeable top end diffrence between the 24 and the 21 in my opinion (and i got the 21 for free)... yeah, it is a set of puch rears, i have a set of spoked 18's that may go on this thing once i lace the new rims in..
 
haha nice. i've seen the video of you blipping the throttle, but do you have any videos of you riding it? really want to see it in action. what's the fastest you've had it up to?
 
thanks! yeah it is a fun one.. fastest i have done on that 125 is probably up near 80 or so, it is geared on the low side...
built some wheels up for the little derbi, looks much better i think

I want a tiny bike so badly.

I think my next build will just be a tiny 125 or something fun that I can tear around back roads dragging the pegs at 30
 
sonicjk, do it! little bikes are way more fun.. you need to up your expectations for knee dragging though on a little bike, this little 80cc will do high 70's how its currently geared

Where I am they never come up for sale. And when they do its some jackass wanting 1000 for his pos 125 cc enduro.
I really really want an rd125.
There's a dt125 on my local cl at the moment but he wants too much for it.
 
good call on the spokes. looks great. what does that derbi motor rev to? what about the rd125? thanks to your rd125, i'll be picking up a rd125 within a week.
 
thanks! the derbi motor revs out to a little above 12500 rpms (almost does that from the factory too).. the rd125 hits right at 11750 with the carbs and pipes that are on there
 
yeah, you can still find them, had too but you can.. i have a pretty good collection of them going right now
