Kickstand ideas/options???

I'm in the process of building my CB350 cafe bike. I'm having trouble coming up with a kickstand option. The frame is painted and original mounts for center stand and foot peg/kickstand mount have been removed. Looking for a clamp on style or possibly mounting to bottom left engine mount tab. Any ideas from you guys?

Bike looks killer man. That copper frame is something else... You could try something like this as far as the kickstand goes...

Thanks for the link. Kinda pricey but might have to go with it for lack of options.
When you say "something else" is that in a good way or negative way. Constructive criticism is always welcomed.

Its in a good way! :D I really dig it. Its different, and thats what this is all about man. Building YOUR bike... I think its cool as hell. Is that the color your going with for the tank/seat? Couldnt tell if it was paint or still primer. If its not painted yet, I think a really deep blue would be awesome with the copper frame... (BMW color)

The pic shows the tank in primer. I just put a coat of paint on last night and waiting to cure before I sand and clearcoat. I'm going with a silverish/aluminum color. If it doesn't look good, I'll try a different rattle can color. lol That blue looks awesome but not sure if I can find it in a can. Trying to do everything myself (besides engine work), and cheaper the better.

I love that frame color man! SWEET! I love green with copper or gold! I am thinking darkerthough, that does look like primer to me! Kelly Green would look perfect with that frame color!

Kind of wish I would've posted a poll now... Oh well. I'm not apposed to repainting if I don't like it.
I put the seat on just to give you guys an idea of what it'll look like. Should be a little more glossy after wet sand and clear coat.

Looks like ya did a nice job with the paint. I gotta be honest, I dont love the silver. Its not my bike though, so who cares what I think. If you like it roll with it man. Its just too much metallic with the copper IMO. Something deeper (green, or blue maybe) or something really subdued like a high gloss olive green perhaps...

I am pleasantly suprised by the silver on the copper! I think it looks great! It will look really killer with some flat black on the motor and pipes and then some really bright orange and mustard yellow old school pin stripe work like on woody's tank. The one on the current banner for Jan.! I normally don't like metalics an metalics, but I am feeling this one for some reason!

I painted the headlight bucket and triple tree mounts flat black. I was going to paint the rims flat black as well but they cleaned up too nicely to hide them behind paint.

You would have to basically cover all other metal with a flat black for that to work IMO. With the two metalic paints, then AL engine, chrome pipes, alloy hoops, spokes, AL hubs, and SS fork legs. Too much metal look for a bike. You could get away with the SS legs but everthing else would need the flat black treatment. This is just what happens when using metalic color paints. This is just my opinion and thought out loud for your pondering. In the end it is as Von said, "its your bike, if you like it..." I do hope that this brings things to light that you may have not previously concidered.

I do like the two colors together, but it has its draw backs too!

Thanks for the input. Might go shopping for a new color tonight. Can't bring myself to covering up the rims and everything else in flat black. If I go with the blue or green tank/seat, should I keep the headlight bucket and tripletree mounts flat black or paint those to match or a different color?

Could go either way, sense they are already that way I would wait until you get the tank and seat painted to see how it looks then! If you go green or blue you can polish all the rest of the metal to a good shine for a great look. I would stick to darker colors though, no mid or light tones, that frame pops enough!

why not mount a kickstand on the other side of the frame, so that when up it is semi hidden by the frame.

(this is totally going to happen on my ride, but you can steal it ;))

Good idea but how do you plan to mount it and what brand/type kickstand do you plan to use? Also when in the up position, is there going to be enough sticking out to get your foot onto to put it down?

I have seen this done a few times and the best and most funtional one I saw was mounted backwards with a small tab welded to it for a push down. It was totaly behind the frame, the only thing you could see was the mounting bracket and the little tab. if it where painted to match, it would be almost un-noticable in the up position. JUST DON'T FORGET TO RAISE IT BEFORE RIDING OFF!

doubles as a catapult

I lean Loudbike up against a tree when I don't want to put the ctr stand down.

I always thought it would be funny to have a beater bike and roll up somewhere that people are around and just get off the bike and throw it on the ground and leave it on its side in a parking spot. Go on and do my thing then return to pick it up from the ground, kick her and ride off. Have someone hidden to video the whole thing with bystanders reactions and youtube it!
