Put first few layers of glass on and found the contours to be a little challenge for me. I sanded it smooth after 2 layers of hair and found air bubbles. I guess it is better to find now and sand out than later. I will apply 2 more layers of hair and one final layer of weave. It is probably overkill, but for a little added weight, at least I will have strength. If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I glasses indoors and let it cure in a room at about 80 F. Feels nice a and solid. Not so easy breaking away from mould. Used duct tape but no wax. Came free but mould broke in half. I may have to wait till tues when I go back to work to bondo. If I can get inside this weekend to bondo that would be nice. We will see.

lucky, i live in an apartment so i have to keep mine outside in the cold.i hope it turns out ok. people have told me it will be ok so im keeping my fingers crossed

this may be a stupid question but i havent seen it answered in any of the seat build threads: how do you attach the fiberglass seat assembly to the bike frame?

EWWW... :p Mine had that setup too, I found a later version seat instead that was nice and low no King/queen setup! Your new seat bump = awesome. haha

Looks really good Grease! That's exactly how I made mine.... I completely destroyed the form removing the part, but I wasn't planning to build more than one anyway.

I can't believe you didn't want to keep the stock seat - looks comfy

I have just welded on hoop for back of frame. I couldn't find a die tight enough to fit seat so I bent an arc then had to cut and weld in middle to match pan. Still have to finish up welding and dress. I am also going to weld on some mounting tabs for seat. Once I get my universal rearsets from dcc, I will see if I could use the bracket for rear pegs.
