That's an interesting looking bike with some unusual mods. I really the the minimalist subframe. just a thought - did you look at using a modified stock Z ducktail? They can look wicked on that sort of minimal rear end and match the tank really well.
Looking at the rear linkage arrangement, it looks as if teh shock will be subject to substantial rotational movement rather than a predominantly linear motion. That might make it harder to set up the spring and damping rates. What might work slightly better would be to lower the rear mounting point so that the movement of the swing arm is translated into a more linear movement at the shock.
Do the pipe bends drag at all? They look a little wide. if they drag, they could fairly easily be brought in tighter.
I have thought about using a stock Z ducktail, or even the stock tail i have sitting in the basement. I actually had the rear mounting point a bit lower than it is now, but the result was very mushy, with hardly any linear motion until the very end of travel...not a good thing if you want to stay on the bike. It actually works very well as I have it, its quite neutral feeling, way better than the stock suspension with was underdamped and oversprung.
I haven't managed to drag the pipes yet, I don't usually get over that low. they are a little wide though, I just haven't had the tim to bring them in at all. I still haven't even decided if i like the dual pipes or not. I have experiments with about three different setups, this was my last attempt, and i didn't really care for it
