KZ650 Cafe - End of Season Pics

All summer I wanted to get out and get some pics of the bike, but for some reason I just never got around to it. Now that the season is sadly drawing to a close I finally got out over the past two weekends to get some shots. I wanted to get some before putting it away since you never know what may happen over the winter and what it will look like come spring ;D I'm just pissed that I forgot to take the camera last weekend on the vintage run.

Anyway, here are a few pics taken at various spots in, and just outside, St. John's. If you notice something black on top of the engine, it's my gloves. I put them there to warm up and forgot to take them out before taking pics :-[

What wonderful pics... and looks like a wonderful place to live really wild and empty. sooo much space.
I am trapped in crowded Brighton in the crowded uk. I WILL escape though ;D

Thanks guys. Yeah, we do have some nice country for riding. This is only a few minutes from the city so you don't have to go very far to get away for a nice ride. Only problem is the weather sort of limits our riding season. Especially this past summer.

Yeah, Mossy would be nice to get out for another run. Not much time left now.

Hey guys, I am good to go next week, wife does not work until 4:00 so if we head out early it should not be a problem. Nice pics, except for the Kaw, :), but it could be worse, a Yamaha. See ya next week.

Pics are great man.

You def should've had the cam on the vintage run, even though my bike is lookin the shits lately. :-[

I'm probably not gonna be around this weekend for the so planned season-ender ride... But let me know anyway.

Thanks guys.

Ease, I don't say I'll get out this weekend either. I checked the points gap last night and now 2-3 cylinders have no spark!!! Have no idea what I did. Just hope I can fix it before this weekend. If not, the bike will be put away for winter. :(

Check and make sure you didn't ground one of the wires to the points plate. Might just be an easy fix.

Sweet machine and great pics!

Gotta love that KayZed!! ;) ;D ;D

How did you paint your rims? were they powdercoated?

LOL, far from it. Due to all the other things I had to do to it over last winter I never had time to really spend on the rims. They were black anyway so I just touched them up with a bit of semi-gloss black Tremclad. I plan on doing a better job this winter since I'll have a bit more time.

love you bike.. it was awesome to see a bike that was close to my own thought reality
here is how i hope my 79 kz650 turns out

yours on top
mine underneath

lowered gauges
relocated / deleted battery cover
removed turn signal brackets
shortened length of rear seat hump
shortened seat where your butt goes

love your mag wheels.. but ill be rocking:
spokes for now.
4in1 black exhaust
paint would be army green like a tacoma pyrite mica
gas tank knee dents.. (well i have to go and sit on the bike to see if they work)
move foot controls back a bit.

again awesome bike you have.. drools

Thanks beard. I really like your mockup. In fact, it looks a lot like what I originally wanted with the bike. I decided not to chop the rear hoop off after since I may want to go another direction with the bike in a year or two when I get the 350 done, and hence the longer seat. Your shorter version looks good.

I just finished lowering the gauges this past weekend. :)

Best of luck wth your build, be sure to post progress.
