??? OK Im confused about why my oil would be pouring out of my breather port into my air filter box? Im new here just today, and i havent had this bike too too long to know why it might be doing this? Any inputs on this matter would greatly help... I have a clymer manual but nothing about breather oil leak :).......... Thanks guys

??? I really hope this question doesnt make me sound like a deutch....... I tend to over look the small things, Would i need new rings? Or is this just a possible oil over service? I have seriously never seen oil spit out of a breather like this.

jkopas, are you a member over at http://kzrider.com? If not, should sign up, a lot of very knowledgeable KZ guys there that could help you with this problem.

I have a KZ650 and have never seen any oil come out of the breather, not sure what would cause it. Must be a lot of pressure in the crankcase. How old is the oil? Is it at the right level?

Ive never heard of it "pouring" out. But usually when oil is coming out of the breather hose then your rings are shot, or youve got to much pressure (ex boost). It do believe it could happen if you had way to much oil in. Do a compression check and make sure everything is ok, if not its time for new rings.

This happened to JT's 360 on Sunday. We were on a long ride and they topped it up with oil. Put toooooo much in. On one stretch it got revved way up and blammo - oil all over the place - back wheel was coated in it. Big mess.

Ran fine after that. Kind of like puking - you always feel better after a good puke.

Thanks, im going to have to check out that KZ site. Yes i did drain the oil and service it up to what is suppost to be there, i just didnt know if there was residual still blowing out of the breather. I think im going to have to change the rings.(weather it fixes it or not, its an old bike and could prob use a tear down and build up) O well gives me something to fill my time with :) Thanks guys

OK, just got done ripping the top half of my engine apart. The pistons are black as night on the tops and nice and shiny on the sides. A few scratches in the cyl. walls but nothing major. Ill post pics of it tomorrow when its light outside and if anyone has any input, it would be appreciated :)

Did you check the compression before you tore it down?

I wish i could say i did. I dont have the tools to do one. So i figured i would try my luck just replacing rings and gaskets, since it is an old bike anyways, and i wanted to build it up new. I know i could have spent that money buying the tools to do the compression test, BUT i wanted to tear the engine apart, is that a bad thing? If it was low on compression it would either be my rings or my valves, right? Well, there you have it, im a rookie at this stuff... tear everything apart first , ask questions later :-\
