Lacing wheels

Been Around the Block
I have a couple of dodgy spokes and looking at re-lacing the wheels of my old Yamaha.

Is this something that is achievable with minimal equipment and experience or
does it fall into the 'Dark Arts' area?

It's much easier than you think. I put the axle through the wheel, and rest the axle across a couple jack stands. As long as it isn't sliding side to side (put a couple zip ties on the axle), you just need something to find the high and low spots.

Yeah, you could get fancy and buy a drop indicator and magnet stand at harbour freight, or just eyeball it, or even run a bright string across the top and side to give you a good visual of what is out where and what to adjust. But ta really is pretty easy, just takes a little patience. Good luck!
