I have never had that happen...but every bike I have ever bought has been from Michigan. Did you go in with Nada evaluation?

Nope, just called them with a hypothetical "what if..." I think the out of state thing might have been the issue. I bet they could look up any Michigan registered VIN and determine if the bike was stolen or not...

That would be my guess too, hence the 2 yr bond deal...i wouldnt risk that personally

Re: Lansing MI area...

Well, it's official, I'm in! Gonna start looking for houses soon. Just in time for winter... :'(

Stoked about the new job, though!!

Re: Lansing MI area...

Congrats man! Good luck with the house hunting / new job.

Re: Lansing MI area...

Thanks man! It's a big move, but I feel up for it ;)

And I'm all over Mid-Ohio next year!

Re: Lansing MI area...

man that is great!!!! ill let you know when we are heading your way for some snowmobile trips!!!!.... we also ride into the upper UP at least 2 or 3 times a year in the summer on the bikes

Re: Lansing MI area...

Moving to Hastings, MI. Found an awesome huge house on 5.5 acres of woods and creeks. It even has a room in the house where the Mrs has green-lighted as indoor bike parking (no more garage for these bikes, ha ha!) The garage will only house cars, and a paint booth. Super stoked. Our house here sold as of today, and we'll be out there by mid November. See you fellas out there soon!

Oh, anybody ever run at Grattan Raceway? They have some trackdays and such that I was looking at, and am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this track.
Thanks!

Start with the Race School in spring. Dan Schmitt has been running it for years. Cost is low and fun factor is off the planet. Fun track to race and technical enough for most people with off camber bends, a bowl and a few other tricky turns, and of course the hump.

Lots of great races there.

DUDE! You are going to be only 20 miles from Gilmore!... (about 100 miles from me)

The Wifey and I do the South Haven, Saugatuck, Grand Haven, tour up the coast every year. Always a festival of some kind centered around food and booze going on. (Irish Festival, Salmon Days) There is even a bike event in Muskegon every year.

Tell me more about the race school!
I'm intersted too! Here is what Google found...
Team Chicago conducts this annual FREE Road Racing School at Grattan Raceway,
15 miles northeast of Grand Rapids, Michigan. After the track walk by the
students and instructors, the class room instructions begin. The riders then
take to the track to experience motorcycle roadracing.
And on the track... but you probably already know that.

I'm in Lake Orion, MI. You're a bit of a haul, but not too far away to meet up!

Congrats on the move!

You are only about 4.5 hours north of Indy. You now have no excuse not to attend Barber next year. A short trip down to Indy and then an 8 hour drive to Kiley's!

Thanks fellas!

Glad to be able to meet up with a few of you as well. I gots plenty of room at my place if we ever need to form up a race day meeting place. I'm stoked about the race track thing. I actually looked at buying the house in the lower RH of the pic, across the street from the track. The Mrs. lets a lot fly, but didn't want to be that close, ha ha.

I'll let you know when I make it out!

Tyler, now we can for sure meet up man! sled season is on us brother! we are also planning a big trip to the upper UP on the bikes this spring! be a good way for you and the misses to check out your new home state! Congrats and i am glad everything worked out!

Seems like a great reason for me to finally get to Grattan! Been to Gingerman tons of times.

Be sure to post-up any potential meets in the DTT MI forum and I'll certainly try to make it over.

I hear that Team Chicago school is not free any more but it's cheap and great guys/gals involved. If we turn up to instruct (haven't done that for a few years admittedly), be sure to say hi.
