Leather or cloth upholstered seats... anyone interested?

I'm making up a leather upholstered seat for my bike and I'm wondering if anyone else would be interested having me make one for them too. I have the availability of a full spectrum of color and I'm using a special kind of closed foam that is alot like a gel pad, without the squish. I use a two good side plywood that it sealed for the seat base. It will come with mounts to allow you to bolt it to your seat pan. Let me know what you think.

I can post pictures of mine once its finished, but mine will be different than someone elses for a few reasons. Price will depend on size and detail. I'm really trying to find out if theres an interest in this right now. If there is I'll figure out details. If not, oh well.

can you ball park the price in black leather for a 14" long 8" wide 2 1/2 "thick foam. i can send you the seat pan to match if thats easier

I can give you a ballpark. First I need to know why you want a seat pad so thick? Is there a back pad? Will the back pad and seat be one piece? Just black leather? You can trace the seat base you want onto paper. Its the best way to plan out the base without having everything in my hands. I've also changed my mind on how to atatch it to the upholstered part of the seat to the fiberglas or whatever part. Going to steam bend the wood and use industrial velcro. Less of a chance of it cracking, scratching, breaking, etc.


I will have pics soon, but as I said earlier, my seat will be very different... just cant say how yet. I'll work on a mock up pad.

How about if I send you the leather, premade seat pan, and precut foam? Would that be something you'd be interested in? Also I'd like to see the finished product before committing.

not really interested in putting together things you already have. Dont take it the wrong way. I stand behind all that I do and using products I'm not familiar with isnt something I'm comfy with. Seat foam is a really touchy issue. I have two foams I use, and only because I've tried others and they were shit. What is your pan made of?


I have alot going on and I'm trying to get something to show... probably by the weekend.
