LeMans Special in Cafe Racer Magazine...

DTT BOTM WINNER
I didn't see a thread on this, so if this is a repost, my apologies.

I picked up the Aug/Sep issue of CRM and saw this...

Congrats Ringo ;) :D

Yep - saw that on the stands a little bit ago but didn't buy it. If you read closely a certain online forum is mentioned. Nice writeup on an awesome bike.

Yup, I caught that shout-out too ;)
They must've sat on the article for a while though. That was before the updates.

Nice! Ill have to break my routine and actually buy this issue :)

Chris was less than thrilled about the writeup, what for all it inaccuracies. I told him to just enjoy the moment--finally a worthy bike on those pages!

Of course, he sold it a month before that issue came out...I hear he completed the big bore on it for the new owner though!

Yeah, I haven't seen the issue, but the article being poorly done is no surprise. Shame, it's such a beautiful machine.

Yea, I don't usually buy it either, but I had already read through the three mags I subscribe to and needed something to read on my overnight routes.

It was very vague and light on content for a feature bike. Maybe it's just me, but CRM always seems to come across as "Cafe Racers for Dummies".

Shit, thanks guys! I completely missed this thread. While the bike has been sold to a good buddy, I sold it at the "friend rate" with the stipulation that he finish what I set out to do. And there has indeed been a fair amount of awesome progress, with even more to come. I'll update the build thread very soon.

Coincidentally my subscription issue [ my Daughter's got it for a Christmas prezzie - honest ] plopped onto my doormat this morning.

My first thoughts were - Jeez here's a bike VERY similar to Ringo's................ but the write up didn't make any sense [ compared to forum thread ] and of course the name meant nothing as I didn't associate it with "Ringo".

Apart from the appalling writing [ what's new ? ] congrats on getting the bike featured - and they even acknowledged the existence of DTT !

I had just finished reading Ringo's thread the day before this issue came out. Its really cool to see the work behind the bike in the magazine
