Let's see your old cars!!!

Its not as old as some of your rides, but its old compared to me!
1968 F100 Ranger
Here are pics from the day I bought it. It had a 400M with a C6 that wasn't bolted in all the way. It shifted and the fan sliced through the radiator, and the driveshaft kinked and cracked the tranny case. One of my co-workers thought it would be funny to get some crime scene tape out of the trunk of his patrol car...

I blew the 400M, and I am waiting on temy transmission guy to finish up with my new C6 thats going on my mildly built 390FE for this truck. The only thing lacking is the header collectors and it will be rolling home.

THIS is the one that screwed with the local Rozzers - twin Turbo'd Scooby engine, mid-mounted in my "California" Speedster. This was based on the Speedsters that I used to make / sell. All had my own design chassis with independant front suspension, disc brakes etc. Blindingly quick - would see off most 911's. I ebentually made up a T'Bird type hard tonneau with twin headrests to make it a bit more aerodynamic [ !! ] as at speeds over 140mph - it used to get "interesting".

The other one [ stocker - well 914 Porsche lump ] belonged to Mrs B. note the "girly" colour AND a hood [ soft top ].

Yeah, I have a problem..... Its like I feel the need to save old cars and bikes!

Here is my 49 chevy, in process of being painted, it's sitting on a late 70's chassis, power steering, brakes, sbc

Unfortuately, I was not much of a picture taker during my early driving years. So my old '62 MGA MkII (stripped down vintage race car, whereabouts unknown), my fully restored Triumph TR6 (crashed), '72 Nova, and K5 Blazer 4x4 (died in a ball of fire), were never preserved for posterity.

My 1971 Datsun 240z... Just got back from the body shop last month. I hope to have all the interior in it this weekend! Have new black vinyl diamond interior kit, seats and door skins have been re-upholstered in black leather. Have a dash cap to install, new carpet. Engine is stock with round top carbs and pods, performance exhaust header and exhaust....

When I was but a wee yard ape, my neighbor's brother came home from college with a mint 260 Z. I thought it was the coolest car on earth (Ferrari type headlight covers and everything!)... until my dad pointed out a De Tomaso Pantera on the Dan Ryan Expressway. I've had a sentimental attachment to old Datsuns since it reminds me of growing up in Chi town burbs.

Ok, I've got to bite now. I thought this thread wouldn't last because there's a whole section of the forum dedicated to this subject, but happily I was mistaken.

the uberfantastic Rancheroo:

based on the previous post, I suppose I need to add mine (not quite as cool as Mysta's...)

1975 Ford Ranchero... 7.5L of sheer torque.

WOW!!! That car is SICK! Sorry to hear about your father, no bueno.
Thanks :)
The Stutz was a real hoot to drive. A real head turner. It was eventually sold after Dad passed, coincidently to his Barber. Mr. Tony has kept it up very well, and drives it out to Cruise Nights and in Parades regularly. I'll have to find the pics I took of it last year.
But as for my truck... '86 Chevy Silverado

Oh man... awesome Chevelle! Really like those cars...

Heres my '80 Chrysler Valiant. Done a bit of work to it, although its still running the basic 245ci HEMI straight-six engine which is stock internally. That engine, though, has got some factory tuned-length 6-2-1 headers, centre-offset flow-through muffler, Hemi Performance 88kV coil and a custom-mapped electronic dizzy on it so it goes alright. Enough words:

Thanks, man. I worked on her from when I was 15-17 and drove her every day for 5 years. Had to eventually add an A/C unit out of a Swedish bus because the Texas summers with black vinyl was quite oppressive. It looked factory and only cost me $300 as opposed to the $2000 that the Mustang shops try to sell you their retrofit for. ::) Rebuilding that car is probably a big part of the reason I bought my CB to restore. I'll build another one day.

ive had my cb350 from 15 years old... now 17. almost done!

bravo man. my next project will hopefully be a porsche 944, if only i had a garage.

Man, that 'stang brings back memories. A buddy of mine had a black '65 notchback in High School. We were both about 16. Original 289... blowed up, rebuilt 289... blowed up, built up a 302 and was workin' the bugs out when he/his family moved away. That was the baddest car I'd ever been in up to that point. I bet there's still burnout marks in the schools parking lot... 25 years later ;D

I wish I could have afforded a fastback. Now they're just too damn expensive. I had a 302 in mine but it was a newer hydraulic roller cam block. Old cars are so much more fun to drive.
