Here are a couple more shots with a re-worked seat and leveled tank.
Still not completely happy with the seat but it will do for now. If/when I find a sidecar I will have it redone by a pro...

looking good, i'm fixing up a '80 xs400 myself. Got it in similar condition and tore it apart. i'm working on the seat dilemma right now, bought an extra seat off craigslist and took a saw to it, i'll post pics of what i come up with. good luck with finding a side car!
