Looking for an early CB77 Superhawk speedo drive

I'm trying to track down a usable counterclockwise speedo drive from a Honda CB77 Superhawk. When the drive gear is rotated counterclockwise the output shaft should also rotate counterclockwise. PM me if you have one you'd be willing to part with.

Yup, I posted the same on their parts wanted board. I even posted on the SOHC4 board in hopes of getting lucky. This thing is proving to be pretty elusive.

I don't have one in front of me to compare, but is it possible to convert one/use one form a different Honda from that era. CB160 and 450 used a similar drive gearbox.

The issue is that the early speedo drives were geared backwards. The original speedometers had the speedo needle on the right and it travelled in a counterclockwise rotation. It needs the paired counterclockwise speedo drive to work since that drive rotates the speedo cable counterclockwise. All of their other bikes and even the later Superhawks used a standard clockwise speedo drive. So, the other drives don't work for my gauge because they turn the cable the wrong direction.

I managed to forget that, and the NOS gauge I have is the early type so that's not much use to you either.

Hard part to find, and all I have is the CL version. You'd no longer have a tach, but if you need the parts to get you by while hunting the right drive unit, have the wheel, cable and gauge available, not going to use any of them. My 63 is too far gone to restore, so building something else out of it.

I'm actually installing this gauge and bucket on my '71 CB500. I've got the stock gauges for now. So, I'm not feeling too rushed.
