I currently own a 73 cb500 and a 76 cb750 both are cafe racers but im looking for something new but still has that cafe feel and look to it, it has to be reliable cause it will be a daily driver I only wanna bring my other bikes out on the really nice days! thanks for any suggestions!!

look into brat style bikes. they are a chopper/cafe weird mix. less of a race feel but still super fun and badass. some of the bikes on the site are uglier than hell, but a lot of them are super rad

I think I'm going to do that to my 82 KZ1100 Sprectre.

Depending on your budget and size needs check out Cleveland Cycle Werks Misfit. It is a production Cafe, there is a good review of it on HFL and it looks to be well built. USD forks, real resivoir rear shocks etc. Yes it currently comes from China but the guys there are trying to switch production to the US and the factory that is producing the parts makes Hoinda and Suzuki OEM parts. Anyway, I am considering one as a daily commuter so I can mod my CB and take my time, I have to have a rider. They are only 250 cc but they have hotrod factory parts that will make them cruise at 80mph and hit the ton if wanted according to HFL. My commute in the summer is all secondary 2 lane so it fits the bill nice.

Cheers,

Personally, I'm really diggin the Guzzi V7 Classic, especially in race garb. Also looks mighty nice in pearl white. Check it out.

Thumbs up on a Thruxton!

Or, nab a Royal Enfield and start the mods.

Word was about 7 years ago that Enfield India had a running prototype of a Constellation, but it was killed off in the general financial turndown.

Enfield seem to be really on the boil now - especially with modern frames, forks, brakes, etc.

Now then - an upgraded Connie ?

They stopped production a year or two ago, but you can still find some low milage, late model, GT1000 Sport Classics around:

Also, I love the Guzzi, just a damn shame they couldn't get anymore output from engine. Less than 50 hp, if memory serves.

Im really lovin that ducati sc1000s if that dont get your blood boiling nothing will

I've heard of people having major dramas running ethanol blended fuels in the Ducati Sports as they have fibreglass tanks. Apparently the ethanol swells up the tanks and they leak.

beachcomber:Forget a modern Enfield brand twin.I had a 71'MkII interceptor and that was a great bike and the quality of the parts compared to BSA's and Triumph's of the late sixties was night and day.Comparing an old Enfield Bullet with a modern SR500,for example is like chalk and cheese. In 1955 the Bullet was probably the best road British 350,but that was a long, long time ago.I know someone will say a DB BSA Goldstar 350 is far superior, but thats not a road bike its basically a clubman race bike for the road. The modern Enfield twin is the modern Bonneville, even the motor looks alike, especialy the top end.

I know what you mean swivel - attached a pic of my Ex-Bob Mac Connie [ 1958 ]- when it was still his !! Or to be more precise the dealers. It was the fastest bike on the day and went on to compete for another 3 years before being sold off to a dealer pal of mine, who kept it for a couple of years before I bought it.

I no longer have any personal pix of the bike after I Caff'd it - thanx to an ex-wife.

That bike was properly quick with a true 120+ mph top end and acceleration to match.

Another of those "wish I still had it" bikes.

Several years later I put a deposit on a secondhand Interceptor, only to see someone else riding off on it when I went to collect !!!!

I think the Guzzi V7 only kicks out 45bhp which is piss poor for a modern bike of it's size, looks good,
