Lowering my bike

What's up all, i'm thinking about lowering my 78cb750 and I want to know what the pros and cons are. It looks like buying the shorter shocks in the back and adjusting the front forks at the triple tree should do the trick for the lowering. Is this a safe way to lower a bike?

This has been discussed on several threads. Yes it's fine to do this as long as the tires don't hit anything when the suspension bottoms out. Makes the bike turn quicker but reduces ground clearance. Looks cool.

I found that the shorty shocks give a real stiff ride...
Id go for lowering block in the rear and using the stock shocks...
I have a spare set that I can sell you if you want them. I was gonna use them on my cb750f but I changed my mind...

The lowering blocks sound like a good idea. I'm sorry, I'm not sure to call you Noel or Leon. Anyhow, are these blocks easy to install? and how much do you want for them? Thanks!

Any pics of the lowering blocks, and were to get a set?

Heres a pic of the set that I got.
Its all dirty since it came off a 72 cb750 chopper. I was planning to clean it up, prime & paint it black to match my swing-arm.
I've decided that I like the back end of my bike to sit a bit higher than the front so Im not gonna use it.
They are pretty hard to find even on ebay. Chromed steel with a lot of dirt & mud on it..LOL...
These will slam that back end about 2.5 inches so I was told.

I offered them to Harry, but if he doesnt want them, they can be avaliable to anyone who wants it! I'll even be happy to clean them up and paint them. Im not gonna use them.

Hey N, these lowering blocks...I think they change the angle at which the shocks attach to the bike. I don't think i like my shocks slanted that much, so I'll probably look into the shorty shocks. Thanks anyways dude!

You got it exactly right... It lowers the back-end of the bike by changing the angle of the stock shocks...It was a real 70's thing.. ;D
No problem dude!!..

Just for the record, I found some pics of bikes with them on

Cheers

I found these shorties on ebay:

It's 11inches for $99. How much lower will these 11inch shocks make the bike? And is it a good deal for $99?

Peace

Ive actually seen MDI shorty shocks for as low as $70.
Id keep looking on ebay cuz you can get them at that price at anytime!!..

plus motorcycle super store sell's them when they have them instock, even if a little more there aint shipping since they in toronto and we can just walk in and buy them. when i was there last week some one baught there last set that came with adjustable lowering blocks so can go shorty or shorter if need be.
basicaly they where eye to eye instead of clevis to eye, and came with a clevis to clevis adapter that can be run straight or 90 degree for even lower.
