lowering my bike

hi,

just wondering if there is a way to lower a cb360 without changing the shocks. is there a way to adjust to stock ones?

No not really.
You should be able to adjust for stiffness, but it's not going to do a whole lot for ride height.

You can, however, lower the front pretty easily by sliding the forks through the tree (depending on if your forks are bolted to the top or clamped from the sides).

I guess my question is.....why?

You're going to loose a lot of ground clearance when leaned over in a corner. That equates to limited handling.......not good on a bike that's going to have rely on agility rather than brute horsepower to get around...

Just a thought..

i'm short, can barely reach the ground....i was hoping i could just adjust it somehow so when i put on a cafe seat i can raise it back up

Um....no offense intended but damn! Struggling to reach the ground on a 360....
I see your issue now. Be really careful, I've personally watched three dudes on lowered UJMs auger in because they ground out in a corner.
Not pretty....

hahaha..no problem, being short has its advantages. at least i'll always be at the front for group pictures!

hey jeff, your bike's been lowered to it's max up front, with the clubmans you can't go any lower, but with clipons you could go lower still, as for the back you can get shorty shocks, and a cafe seat would knock off 1.5 inches in the middle, i wouldn't worry about grounding out, as your mufflers are shorty megaphones, if you're worried then i have a set of cl pipes that'll give you the most clearance, anyways are you coming out this thursday?, i hear your bike is finished,

yeah the bike is done! i'm gonna try to come out on thursday! gotta learn how to ride the thing still!! i keep stalling, cant get it going in 1st!

did tony come by to help you out? of course always keep engine speed up before you stall out, pull in clutch often in heavy traffic so you don't stall, toronto traffic it's a bitch, it'll be easier for you if you ride for a week ,

OOh, CL pipes. I bet that'd look hot on my 360T

I'm curious, just how short are you? my cafe seat takes a few inches off at least. I already have clearance problems with the stock shocks and have been considering longer ones.

BTW:
being tall has it's disadvantages to. I always hit my head on shit and I'm more likely to have heart trouble. I also slow my bike down because I weigh about 50lbs less then my cb400

so if you're not worried abnout handling and just want a super low bike is there anything you can do with the stock rear shocks?

lowering links can be made by any machine shop or you might find something on fleabay

i'm 5'2. but i tell myself 5'3 1/2! i think i'll leave my shocks and just cut up the seat tonight!

yeah.. I wouldn't adjust the ride height just yet... You are infact sitting on top of 5 inches of foam.
If you build a cafe racer seat to shave off some seat foam of the stock pan, it wil lmake a differece!!

Holy crap that's my bike with CL pipes. That's really hot.
Here it is mostly stock:
