Maine registration > OH title question

Coast to Coast
So I have a CL175 that needed a title. I was able to get it registered in the state of Maine and now have a bill of sale and registration. For anyone that has done this in Ohio, could you tell me what the next step is to get the bike titled? Thanks!

I believe with a current out of state registration Ohio will title it. You might need a safety inspection too. Highway patrol can do it or any licensed shop. POC in Lakewood is able to perform them.

Right on. Safety inspection won't be happening any time soon, considering the bike is in the middle of being disassembled. Hmm... I hope there isn't a time limit on getting a title once I have the ME registration. Anyone know about that?

all you should need is to transfer YOUR maine registered bike to ohio..title will follow like regular in state sale

Yeah, but I'm wondering if I'll have to do an inspection to get it titled. The bike is currently being rebuilt by me and is in no shape to go through a safety inspection.

it will have to be inspected. I have bought several bikes and cars out of state and they need to inspect it.

the good news is, all they do is check to see if the vin on the motor and frame match the paperwork. there is no need to have the bike in running condition. Mine didn't have a head or tail light and was not running when I took it to the title office.

I bought my cb450 while in maine, had a bill of sale, no title, got it registered while I was still living there. Fast forward 3 years and I had moved back to Tennessee and all I had to do to get a title was take the 3 year old registration and the bill of sale. No inspection required. Thats TN anyway. If your going from a non-title state to a title state you shouldn't have any problems getting a title. They have a book at the DMV showing what states require titles. Hope that helps.
