Funny, I was just looking around the net at diy CNC machines. You all beat me to it! Yeah, I don't think I have the technical skills to build one, but who knows? I did see a retrofit of a Harbour Freight Milling machine that looked pretty cool. Still a bit expensive for someone financially challanged, like moi.
