Making custom triple trees

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the whole scene and have recently began my cb900fz build. Im going to be making my own triple trees with the host of tools, CNC's, Mills etc available through work. Am i right in thinking that if I take the exact dimensions from my standard triple trees, ie. hole diameters, centers, distance between etc that I should have no issues. A lot of stuff I have read up on have talked about trail etc which is beyond me but will that matter if I keep the dimensions the same? Anything else to consider?

If you make triple trees as you described, with hole diameters, centres and distances between them exactly the same, you will have no problems. You can make more robust trees which can only improve the handling of the bike. Not only that but you could upgrade the fork tubes, just match the new diameters and have modern suspension with original trail etc. Modern forks tend to be shorter so you could compensate for this with the design of your new triple clamps.

Keep us updated on this.
