yeh i wouldnt mind making up a few copies and maybe sell them i would have to see if its worth my time first. I made this one from the old roof skin from my datsun 240z, So its .8 mill mild sheet metal
you could run with that crack until you find a new one looks like its just over the chain cover and not up to the A.C. generator. nice work this far Rat
The flywheel cover on mine is cracked too, though it was from the previous owner doing god-knows-what. .. wish I could say it was due to a 300ZX though, as I almost bought a couple Z31s back in the day and still hope to someday pick one up.
yeah you could still use it if you have one just means that the back of the starter will be exposed is all. yeah the 240z's are bomb my dad has owned 13 240z-260z iv only been around for 2 240z man they are nice little cars!
I've heard rumors that the XT kick-start mechanism will transfer over... in which case you could almost ditch the starter motor altogether. On my list of pipe-dream mods for my $50 SR250 that doesn't seem too feasible when looked at through the lens of reality.
yeah its the exact same engine just no starter on the XT and the swing arms are diff. there are a few minor diff in the kick starters but the XT works putting an XT kick start on my SR250 seeing as the SR kick start is imposs. to find as it didnt come stock it was a add on.
Mine is a rare one and is fortunate to already have a kick starter. I didnt think this was rare because my last sr250 had one to i just fgured it was factory
However i would like to keep the electric start because my kicker leg is sot of @#$% up from having a cage driver T bone me at a give way sign when i was riding my cx : Lucky i saved my bike but now i have a metal rod up my leg
To the person who asked about the swing arm bushes. They where in no way warn so i didnt change them
lucky wish the two i have came with the kick start! all the canadian ones i have seen (scrap yards) have not had them .....crappy about the leg! at least your still around to ride another day! dang need to find some one that carrys the swing arm bushing kit
