Mikuni Intake Boots CB350 fitment Question

Been Around the Block
I have been reading threads on here and I did not want to clog up other people's threads with my questions. I am going to ask a few questions below:

As we know, the stock intake boots angle out and allow the pod filters to still fit. With the Mikuni boots you get a secure fitment, but they don't angle back. Has anyone successfully made these work without modification? If so how?

Also some guys have bored out stock boots that angle out with success, but has anyone ever made an angled spacer that creates an angle with the boot as it comes off the engine?

Does anyone know how much space you have after the carb using the straight Mikuni boots? Are there any short filters that allow you do use these without issues hitting the battery box?

Photos would be great.

Much appreciated for any ideas, or mods.

I ended up just getting stock carbs, but I am still interested in this. I chose to stay stock as I have a stock motor and want to keep it as a daily driver with no major mods for now. Maybe later I will upgrade. I just read so much about the VM30 being too big for a cb350 stock motor. I checked out the VM28, but decided for ease the stock was my best choice at this point in time. Considering my float had a hole in it, the lip of the carb was broken, etc. I ended up getting a fully rebuilt set for not much more than it would have cost me to rebuild the ones I had. This will give me the time to run these and then down the road get some Mikunis to tinker with while I still have a running bike.
