Motorcycle History

Hey Guys! I will be starting the second half of my semester next week. One of the classes I will be taking is english. That said, I need to come up with a research subject for a 2500 word paper due in 9 weeks. What I would like to do is do a paper on the history of cafe racer and how it ties into streetfighter bikes and bobbers. I can use 3 internet sources, 7 or more "traditional" sources. So, what I am asking is, does anyone know of any good books that explain more this history or any tv programs that would cover or all the above. Any other ideas would be great. Thanks.

Whole Section Dedicated to Cafe History, Maybe the Hunter S. Thompson Article will be of help too.

Some Videos i linked the other day. The First one has some nice historical footage. Second one is only historical footage.

There's a ton of stuff on youtube, This forum has a ton of historical threads. Fashion culture etc. Seems like an enjoyable essay to write, How were you planning on connecting it to Streetfighters and Bobbers.

Read Mike Clay's "Cafe Racers: Rockers, Rock "N" Roll and the Coffee-Bar Cult" Long out of print, expensive and you cannot use my copy. Get it through inter library loan. Fantastic overall, pre-history and history by someone who is in England during the Cafe culture. Great photos.

Mick Walker's "Cafe Racers of the 1960s: Machines, Riders and Lifestyle a Pictorial Review" is good.

John Stuart "Rockers: King of the Road" good social history, little to nothing on bikes. Good resource.

there was/ is an article in a late sixties motorcycle mag with American bobber/chopper riders visit to the cafe scene in the UK. Good period resource. (I cannot remember it off the top of my head)

Avoid Roy Bacon, Cafe Racer magazine, Cafe Racer Television and Mike Seate's books and articles.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate it. I'll post my paper for all to read when I'm finished with it.

I'll relate bobbers and streetfighters by the region and time periods.Making this a comparison piece.
