Mounting a side stand

Hi there,

I have a cb 125 and picked up a side stand from the junkyard. I want to mount it to my frame via welding the bracket to my frame.

Is there like a sweet spot where it should be mounted in order for it not to fall over?

Not really a sweet spot - most anywhere works fine. Just keep in mind that you are essentially making a tripod, 2 tires and the stand for legs. Don't underestimate the strength needed for the mount. You have a little bike, but a side stand gets a lot of abuse and has a pretty long lever putting the bend on a pretty small mount. It's also a little trickier to get it just right too, where it folds up well, holds the bike up well, is easy to deploy and retract, and doesn't drag the ground in turns, conflict with the shifter, damage the exhaust etc, etc. So take some time figuring the deployed and retracted positions. Just tack it on at first and examine it carefully. Here is a relocated stock one with an added reinforcing plate under it to spread the load on the sheet metal stamping of the stock frame. This one is toward the front of center.
