Mounting regulator and rectifier question, sl350

Been Around the Block
I'm trying to hide all my electrical compcomponents and I had a few concerns. My stock battery box is gone, of course, and so is my starter/solenoid. I was wondering if the rectifier and regulator needed to be mounted to metal like in the stock location? I'm pretty sure the regulator does not, as it looks like where it mounted was insulated with rubber, but the rectifier has 2 metal studs that I'm assuming need to be anchored to metal. My seat pan is wood btw.

This is my rectifier:

For the rectifier go to radio shack an get a 25A 50V full wave bridge rectifier.
It's 3 bucks and about half the size of that one. And it doesn't need to be mounted to metal.

Yours shouldn't either I don't think, as one of the wires coming out of it is a ground wire.
