mounting West Eagle seat from DCC

Putting this bike together with my daughter and as her skills grow the modifications will become more technical...but for now, we're keeping it simple.

She wanted to keep the tilt open function that the stock seat had...and I don't want to cut much off of this bike until I know for sure she's happy with the bike set up the way it is.

I'm also building a hardtail trike chop. The rear axle came in a metal crate so we used some of that.

The next time she comes out to the garage I'll teach her how to powdercoat and that piece will be done.

Thanks

Thanks, i've been looking for ideas to mount that seat to my 77 GS550. Nice work!

Hey what's up? In some of those pics you can kind of see some wheels you powdercoated for me. The ones with the double whitewall tires. Can't mistake who you are with that freaked out avatar!

That's slow going. It started out as a Detroit Bros drop seat frame.

The frame was jacked up from the get go so I cut the tail section off and jigged it up on a table

I want a Servi-car chopper look so I used those specs and modified them to the length of the main frame I'm using.

Used my cheap-o bender & notcher for the new rear rails

I got the bender new from a swap meet a while back. It's pretty cool. It's pneumatic...step on the pedal & watch it do work. On the side it says Mid American Tools EZ-Bend. I've googled it before to find a clip I lost for it and they're still online for sale.

I'd like a pic of that bob bike in the upper left of the photo of your 350 with the seat closed. Thanks.

That's this one

I make a part for it every once in a while...other than that it just sits collecting dust. I made some clip-ons for it a couple days ago

Thanks for the info! I ask cause that looks like the same design that Eastwood is selling. I'm guessing yours didn't come with the Eastwood price tag, though.

Finally tracked down a price on that bender, new. $845?! Holy s***! Not exactly cheap-o, but if you got it at a swap meet, I'm sure the price was knocked down, considerably. I'll just have to either keep my eyes peeled for one, used, or figure out how to make one.

That seat looks great. West Eagle is no longer in business and DCC tells me they are making replicas of these with the non pleated being available soon and the pleated being some time out.

How do you think it would look on a 500?

I don't think it would look much different. I saw the non-ribbed seat on their advert. banner and I think it looks pretty cool. I'd like to have one for another bike I'm working on.
