Moved my Battery

Been Around the Block
I recently spent some time repositioning my battery. The idea was to get rid of my side covers while keeping the gear in the general area but repositioned so it doesn't look like I simply took the covers off. Once I took the covers off and cleaned up my frame, I cut a hole in the plastic rear inner fender just big enough for my battery box. Than I affixed the box to the fender using fiberglass, more specifically I sandwiched the battery box between layers of glass. I also sprayed rubberized undercoating to increase the stability of my work and once I installed the fender back on my bike I added a metal back brace.
So far so good, but I have only test rode the bike once.

I am interested to hear peoples opinion of my work, there is ample clearance my wheel and the battery box but since I have not seen anyone else do anything similar I am curious if what I did was a mistake.

Nothing wrong with the location of the battery - it's close to where most batteries are located (turned 90 degrees) and is almost identical to a BMW airhead's battery placement.

I would have to search through my junk to get the details but the quick answer is the rearsets are a 70's product. I believe it was a California company that made them for bikes like ours. The plates were originally square but they didn't fit right so I shaped them and drilled some holes in them. No foot pegs came with it so I got some e-bay ones, they are a little too far back but overall I am happy with them.

Glad you approve Tim, what worried me is the stability of what I did, but the best way to test that is by riding.
