Moving to Toronto!

Check with Noel about parking spaces. There are lots of places you can rent monthly parking spaces. Will run you $80-$100 a month though. But that's indoors, heated etc. and you could stash a bike and a car in one spot.

As far as I know, there are spots available for that price range in the garage a few of us rent in. So the place you've found without parking is near Spadina?

It's actually on the east border of the U of T Campus, just off Yonge... Google says an 8 minute drive or a 50 min walk to Spadina. I'm assuming that will translate to a 15-20 minute bus ride...?

There looks to be a public parking complex across the street but I don't know if it is available for longterm. At the "Charles Promenade"... Might just be parking for the mall... Anyone familiar?

Taking this place would mean leaving my buddy out in the cold, so I'm treading lightly, but I like the building (above a clothing store and next to restaurants/bars/THC... :p ), and there is already a tenant from Newfoundland there (whose room I would be taking over).

Newfie for Newfie, even Steven!

You can get temporary street parking permits for a good price. The shitty thing is that they're only good for a small area (ie. near your house). If you're living on Yonge and you work on Spadina, you're in transit luck! A subway route follows Yonge St. and Spadina....and you won't even have to transfer. It'll literally take you 10 minutes.

Parking near your job site will be about $20-30+/day. I know that parking in my office building is $40/day. It's insannnnnne

Every man for himself. If you've found a good place, I'd jump on it.

So... the place I wanted fell through. Pretty pissed about it.
The owner just stopped writing back...

I did manage to find another place for SUPER cheap though... Less than half than I've been expecting to pay... But it's a ~30 minute commute to work.

Pros: It's a huge room, hardwood floors, big window, free parking, cool roommates (2 girls around my age), low cost.

Cons: The commute and it's unfurnished.

;D :D ;D :D ;D

Furniture is cheap and plentiful. If the price is that low, you'll have a bit of extra coin to toss on a cheap bed and a bedside table.

toronto.craigslist.com is the place to go for furniture.

The difference between furniture and 2 girls is: you can get cheap furniture at Goodwill.

My buddy lives at Spadina and Front (basically beside your work site I think) and I`m pretty sure he has 2 parking spaces between him and his roomie, but they both have scooters. I`m sure he`d rent one cheap. I`ll see if he knows of any places available in the area, or maybe in his building.

Nice!
Parking would be awesome if he's that close to my work.

Check it out for me if you can? Find out the address and if he's willing to give me a space for cheap?

Thanks!

Still waiting for the "difference"... lol

...

Looking for a clip from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" that explains the 'Three's Company' vs. 'Perfect Strangers' scenario... :D

Im moving up as well. Jan/Mar. Trade school by the hershey centre. Sleeping on couches!! Ill try the black dice perhaps. Im uber antisocial though

Nice.
I'll be hitting up the black dice while I'm there as well I'm sure.

And I'm not so much anti-social, Haha, I'm usually down for whatever.

Hey! My buddy got ahold of me and he's already renting out one of his spots and the other one is taken up by the scooters. He says they always have some available and they usually go for about $100-$120/month. I don't know if that's expensive or not, but it's in a new building and it's controlled/underground. He's supposed to be checking to see if there's any rooms/apartments/parking spots for rent right now. I'll let you know as soon as he gets back to me.

That is pretty expensive for what I'm planning on using it for, but who knows once I get up there my tune could change!
Let me know if he comes up with something!

Cheers,
