My '64

Thought I'd post a pic of one of my projects. My '64 Fairlane SC has been my daily driver for over 10yrs. It's been upgraded with a 5.0(carb),AOD trans, deeper rear gears, front disc brakes, bigger rear drum brakes, custom floor shifter & functional side-pipes. I still have to finish some wiring work under the dash & install all new interior. This pic is on the way home from the bodyshop. Got the door handles shaved, poppers installed,'64 Galaxie taillights frenched in,top done in pearl white, rest in low-gloss HotRod black, bumpers chromed, wheels powdercoated red,new headliner installed & all new weatherstrip. Between this,my '65 Fairlane SC 4spd,'65 Comet Caliente & now my CB350 Cafe project, I'm gonna have my hands full & my wallet empty for quite some time.

I dig it man. I've got a '65 Fairlane sitting in my garage waiting for me to get the cash around to buy a new drive train for it. It's good to see more mild customs coming out of the woodworks.

Fun cars. Mine was a pretty quick in an 1/8mi. But it got too small when the third kid came along. Traded it for a '62 Galaxie. Love that era.

Nice grille. I'm diggin' the red on black & sidepipes too! I restored/upgraded a '62 Comet Custom for my sis a few years ago. Swapped out the drivetrain for a 200,C4 & 8". Was her daily driver until she got prego with my lil' nephew. Currently working on my GF's '61 Comet. I also have a '65 Caliente 2dr HT. Upgraded with frt disc brakes,AOD & 347". Hoping to get going again on my '65 Fairlane SC 4spd. Got a 408" short block so far. Should be fun ;)

Recognize the grill? Its a bunch of VW bumper guards!
You can't see it in the pic, but the lid was metal flake. We put a roller 302/ 3 speed with Trick flow heads and some hotter cams. Fun stuff.

Here's my Galaxie 500

Nice! I used to run the Lancers on mine for a couple of years. Then picked up a nice set of '57 Ford wheel covers & been running them since. Been thinking of making up some kind of custom grille for mine too. Nice to see more Fords out there. Gotta finish mine up. I miss driving it. You don't get too many looks driving a '95 Grand Marquis ::) . I used to get so many thumbs-up & phone numbers cruising the Fairlane.
