My 77 GS750B cafe build finally sees a little road time...

TonUpSoldier

bad assed, super fast and fully gassed
And by that i mean LITTLE! I ran it up and down the street before realizing that my rear tire was pretty low. Since i dont have my taillight/plate bracket on there yet, i didnt risk running it down the road to fill it up. Ignore the paint, its still a work in progress, as is the megaphone hanger and the seat still needs upholstered. But DAMN does it sound good and run better. Im pretty happy with how smooth the motor is, as it was my first full top end rebuild attempt.

TKC man that thing turned out awesome!

That tail section and gold frame really set that thing apart bud!

Good job.

Looks pretty good so far, but I think I'd take those gators off. They look pretty crushed up; I'm guessing the forks have been dropped in the triples a bit, and it looks pretty cramped with them on there.

Im probably going to pitch the stock fork ears so i can scoot the gaitors up a bit. I need smaller ears anyway to push the forks up a bit more as i plan on swapping to clipons soon.

Id say get some smaller gauges if you get clip-ons, or your stock gauges might look sky high. Front tire looks a little small. I'd paint that swing arm too. It looks awesome though.

Also what kind of wheels are they and where did you get them.

Front tire looks a little small?? Its the stock tire size. You see, just because you get a wider tire on the rim, doesnt mean your contact patch will be any wider. I could probably get away with a 110 instead of a 100, but anything larger will pinch, and your contact patch would actually be SMALLER than what it was with the stock tire size. It may look cooler, sure, but id rather have the performance than it to look cool. The gauges are a lil large, they are the stock 77 Zook ones. I was going to get some smaller ones, but finding them with the tach ratio was near impossible, as the tach is driven off of a gear in the head. I may at some point simply switch to a little speedo or something, but while im tuning it, and esspecially when i get my 850 bore done on the other motor, I kinda like having the tach to get readings from. The wheels are stock Suzuki spokes, I just painted them and baked them. They've held up pretty well, even with getting some brake fluid on them once. I have another set of spoked wheels that i think i will have the spokes and hub powdercoated the brass colour, and have the rim powdercoated black. That, i think, would look tits. They are also stock size, 19 inch in front, 18 inch in the rear. Tire sizes are Front: 100/90-19 and back 130/80-18 which i will be switching to a 140/90-18 i think.
