Hey
I have a 77' CB750K.
I took it out tonight for a spin and was kind of ripping around on it here and there.

I got the bike up to about 50-60 twice in some short strectches and just as i decelerated the last time, the headlight turned off and the bike was dead. I glided to a stop
i turned the key off then on, nothing...no lights, no starter, nothing....just me pushing my bike 75 ft into my garage.

Anyone have any similar experiences? Not too sure if this is an electrical thing or if i killed my bike.

When it died i shifted all the way down to first to see if the tranny was ok and it was. back to neutral was fine....nothing frozen or grinded.

Hope i didnt kill my motor somehow. Anyways, give me some insight if its available

Thanks

i'd say electrical but i'll keep my head low... magneto, rectifier, battery could all cause this.

+1 on what Noel said. I would bet ther is a short somewhere in your charging system and when you closed the throttle the juice spiked and popped a fuse. I was having this issue and it was a really corroded connection. I cleaned it up and shrink wrapped and been good since, but blew about 3 fuses finding it. It was grounding out on part of the frame. Also it can be the started button, if it grounds out inside the case it will cut power to the headlight/tailight etc. Mine has stuck a little in the past and the bike would be running but no lights until I wiggled the button a bit. Cleaned that all up too and has been good since. The starter is designed on some hondas to kill the lights before the starter engages to give extra juice to it.

Good luck.

i had a short on my 350 years ago that blew the fuse and shut it all down, also at night... it was the high-beam switch. you remember hittin' a switch of any kind?

Hey
You know i think i may have had the hight beams on....

In the morning, when i could see, I found that a fuse was blown. Im gonna replace it and see what happens.
Hopefully i can chalk it up to just being an old fuse, but the spike that blew it concerns me.

Tomorrow Ill check for what you guys were suggesting above.
