my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" FINISHED...AGAIN LOL.NEW PIX 3/30/10

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PIX

So I am totally supposed to be working right now... some how though I found my self thinking about your bike... if you get the chin and don't like it on the bike, hack it up and make it into something cool...

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PIX

lol, that means your ready to call it a day and go do somethin cooler.lol

ya ive been thinkin about it to, i think im getting indecisive, which sux, so im going to mock something up at home and see how much i like it before i jump into it right away. keep having to remind myself to be patient lol

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PIX

I do that all the time which also sucks... but i tend to have lots of parts that i say "well i'll just make it work" then given machine time, etc i loose interest and move on... probably better you find out if you want it now, rather than after you pull the trigger.

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PIX

Just won a vf500 chin fairing for 15$ +10$ shipping on ebay no cracks just some scuffs, but who cares itl be painted! wohoo! lol. il be doing a 1" gold border on the top of the chin and the res in satin black to match the bike.

so back to the exhaust topic, black? i see some of you agree, anyone else?

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PIX

haha, i listened to you guys and blacked out the pipes last night, just waiting for my chin fairing to arive and i will then post a pic. and maybe even a video.lol

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PIX

Nice... I like to hear that! it should look sick... You wrap em? Or paint? hahaha... I know you thought you were done, but I mention a chin and now it's going up... I imagine we think a little alike, anyway, depending on how much is covered by the chin, black or white wrap could look really cool and give the bike the "race" factor... You got the stance right, and I think things will fall together nicely once the chin is on.

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PI

Ya man it's funny how the day after it was done I already has a few things mire I wanted to do but hopfully after these mods il be done lol, and ya I think we definately have similar tastes in bike styles.
I ended up painting the exhaust black, and when u suggested the chin guard it motivated that extra bit to get the fairing, I'm totaly stoked on how the end result will look. Il post pix Ina few days.
Also the guy I bought the fairing from off eBay has a few more if anyone is interested was 15$+shipping, off a vf500 interceptor

Hurley, do you have a link to the fairing guy?

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PI

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PI

Hey guys here is the link to the sellers eBay listings, the chin fairings aren't listed yet and I'm guessing some of the plastics he mentioned aren't either, if you need send him a MSG through the "contact seller" link, And ask him about them.
Just mention to him that Josh the guy in Cali who just bought the lower chin cowl fairing told you guys about him, if you need more info il happily email him for you or give you his email.

Re: my cafe/bobber/cafe build. "SEVEN" its what i decided to call it.DONE.NEW PI

I received my chin fairing today, I'm totaly happy with it, it's certainly not in perfect condition a lil scratched some deep some not, but no cracks, and for 15$ I'm not worried lol, I sprayed the coat of black today and as I mentioned the fairing had it's rough spots which ad for imperfection in the paint but it's cool won't be to noticed, specialg in it's location, plus I'm willing to bet after riding a while itl have some new dings and scratches.
So tommorw I'm planning on laying the gold stripe and maybe mount it at night or weds. So expect some pics soon of the latest, blacked out exhaust and the chin fairing.
Il show a "before" pic, a "finished" pic, and a "wait I wasn't done last time after all but now I am" pic lol

ALRIGHT, so i was done, then we decided to change and add some things right, well here it is, blacked out exhaust and chin fairing.
the only thing i didnt go with was rearset conversion, i didnt like how the stock cotrols looked when set up in the back and decided if i wasnt going to be 100% satisfied with the look of them it wouldnt be worth the work,so im going to wait see how i feel after a while and possibly in the future just buy some nice real rearsets, and surprisingly the riding position sets my legs nicely and with a slight slant back.
i want to thank twisted though for the awsome help he was in foot control relocation when i was messing with relocating them, you rock man, and so does everyone else you guys were a great help and your opinions made a great impact.
I am very happy with the outcome, ofcourse not perfect, but thats part of why we love old bikes right.

so check it out, what do you guys think .
here is the before pic.

and the wait, ok lets try that again, now im finished.

loved the belly pan chin fairing, looks like you were right dakine. haha

Hurley, that thing looks great. The chin fairing, gold rear sets, and exhaust all work really well together!

So what's next?

Wow man, what a difference! Looks great man! I am digging the strip of chrome left on the pipe! Ties in great with the chrome left on the front!
